Lu Brandali Archaeological Site - Santa Teresa Gallura<\/a><\/h4>

In our wonderful Sardinian island, more than 3000 years ago, a population of people called Nuragic people created their own settlements, composed of nuraghi, residential villages, giants' tombs and megalithic structures. Discovered in the 1960s, the archaeological site of Lu Brandali has been the subject of excavation campaigns on several occasions. On the site you can visit the Giants' Tomb - which has brought to light around 50 burials - and the Nuragic village. On the rocky end of the area, there is also the nuraghe with 2 towers, which cannot be visited because it still needs to be excavated. The site dates back to the 14th century. to the 10th century BC (medium bronze, final medium bronze). The beauty and naturalistic richness of the entire area makes clear why the ancient populations chose it to install their residential settlement. The whole area was a spectator and protagonist of various contacts, not only in the Nuragic period but also continuing in Roman times, up to the present day. Perhaps due to its strategic position, the fact is that Santa Teresa Gallura and its sites of historical and archaeological interest have given scholars the opportunity to add missing pieces to that great puzzle that is the history of Sardinia.<\/p><\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Tombs of the Giants of Li Mizzani - Palau<\/h4>

The Giants' Tomb of Li Mizzani is one of the most important Nuragic funerary monuments in the Gallura region.\n\nThe tomb is aligned along an east-northeast to west-southwest axis, with its fa\u00e7ade facing east, a common orientation found in Nuragic funerary architecture.\n\nThe monument stands on a flat area within the Monte Canu region, characterized by rolling granite hills. The surrounding archaeological landscape is particularly rich and includes numerous Nuragic sites, such as the nuraghi of Patima, Luchia o Braniatoggiu, Mascone, San Giorgio, La Carruba, Pulcheddu, Pinniteddi and Monte Canu, as well as the remains of a nuraghe and village in the locality of Funtana de la Idda.\n\nTo the south, the landscape is dominated by the Nuraghe of Li Mizzani, while on clear days the outline of Corsica can be seen to the north.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Nuraghe la Prisgiona - Arzachena<\/h4>

The archaeological site of La Prisgiona is located in Capichera, about 6 km from the center of Arzachena. It consists of the Nuraghe and a large village of huts that extends around it. The nuraghe is located on a hill, controlling a vast territory of which it was the political, economic and social point of reference. Various settlements located on the surrounding hills gravitated around it. The imposing structure is composed of three towers included in a large triangular bastion. The tower originally had two floors, stands 7 meters high and is covered in a \"tholos\" style. The structure, with an ogival profile, is created by overlapping rows of stones, with a gradually smaller diameter towards the top, i.e. with the typical construction technique used by the Nuragic people, also called a \"false dome\". <\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Nuraghe Majori - Pausania Temple<\/h4>

The Nuraghe Majori, located in the territory of Tempio Pausiana, is one of the best preserved and accessible Nuragic sites in Gallura. Dating back to the Nuragic civilization of the Bronze Age, the monument combines characteristics of corridor and tholos nuraghi, offering a precious testimony to the thousand-year history of Sardinia. Immersed in a suggestive forest of holm oaks, oaks and wild orchids, the site is also home to a rare colony of small protected bats. Today the Nuraghe Majori is enhanced thanks to the passion and commitment of those who take care of its protection and cultural promotion.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Tomb of the Giants on Mont'e s'Abe - Olbia<\/h4>

The Giants' Tomb Su Mont'e s'Abe is an archaeological site located in the municipality of Olbia, in the province of Gallura, North-East Sardinia. Similarly to other tombs of the giants of Gallura, it was built in two main construction phases. In the first phase, which can be classified in the period of the Bonnanaro culture, an ell\u00e8e couverte tomb was built; subsequently, in the second phase, during the Nuragic age (around 1600 BC), the all\u00e8e couverte was transformed into a giants' tomb with the construction of the exedra and the stele of which few traces remain today. The tomb, which measures approximately 28 meters long and 6 meters wide, was excavated and restored in the 1960s.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
